Curriculum & Planning - online islamic mentors

Program & Curriculum

We’re steadily building a program designed to serve a wide range of ages, insha’Allah—always with the same commitment to nurturing both the heart and mind through an interactive mentor model.

For children, Mawadda currently offers a core ELA (English Language Arts) program for the early years (KG–Grade 2), with additional niche courses for older learners. Each course is crafted by a team of instructors and curriculum designers with dozens of years of combined experience in both Islamic and secular education.

For adults, we’re also rolling out a growing selection of offerings for parents and educators, especially in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy, and child development—designed to support those guiding the next generation of our Ummah.

If you don’t see your child’s age group or your area of interest yet, we invite you to stay connected—we’re building with your family in mind.

Mawadda’s children’s classes are designed to nurture both faith and foundational skills. We currently offer:

  • English Language Arts (ELA): Our Faithful Phonics program builds strong reading and writing skills while weaving in Islamic values and stories.

  • Creative Writing & Storytelling: For older children, we offer two unique courses that develop advanced writing, critical thinking, and love for Qur’anic and Islamic narratives.

  • Arabic Language: Our Crafty Arabic course immerses children in Arabic through nasheeds, crafts, and engaging activities rooted in faith.

Each class is crafted to teach essential academic skills while connecting children to their deen and identity, inshaAllah. More subjects and levels are coming soon!

📌 NOTE: Seats for our Fall 2026 flagship course are limited to 6 seats—if it speaks to your child’s needs, we encourage you to explore the schedule and reserve early.

Our signature year-long course for young learners integrates ELA, Islamic Studies, Math, and arts into one seamless, faith-rooted experience with the first levels placing particular emphasis on the core skills of phonics, reading, spelling and mental math.

But these are not just a set of subjects—it’s a system of learning that builds language fluency, numeracy, spiritual confidence, and creativity in sync. Every subject is taught with intention, joy, and reverence.

We’ve designed it to feel like a living curriculum—where your child’s mind is challenged, their heart is nourished, and every lesson becomes a source of meaning.

💡 You can always browse our schedule or book a quick call—we’re happy to help you find a course that fits your child’s needs and interests.

Not yet—but that’s the goal. We’re still early in our journey, but every step is guided by the same vision: growing confident, curious learners who walk with yaqīn.

We’re building full-fledged, integrated programs one course and grade level at a time. Each class blends core academics with Islamic studies. And for parents and educators, our adult mentorships offer deep, lasting growth in teaching, learning, and leadership—rooted in faith and refined through experience.

Yes! In addition to our year-long core offerings, we provide a growing range of modular, skill-focused courses—like creative writing, child development, spiritual journaling, and much more.

These allow families to focus on what matters most at a given stage—whether that’s mastering a new skill, exploring a passion, or deepening personal growth. They’re also perfect for those easing into the Mawadda experience.

Curious if something new is coming for your child’s age group? Reach out or sign up to stay in the loop—we’d love to grow together, inshaAllah.

Also, since we typically run these courses just once every year or two, so if one speaks to your family’s needs, it’s best to reserve your spot early.

Yes—every learner who completes a course or program receives a beautifully designed certificate honoring their growth in knowledge, character, and purpose.

Each certificate is tailored to the course type and age group, with distinct designs for children and adults—making it a meaningful milestone, not a generic printout.

We see every stage of learning as a step closer to service, ihsān, and yaqīn. The certificate is a reminder of that sacred journey.

A digital certificate will be made available immediately upon completion—perfect for sharing with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and loved ones. For adult courses, we also offer a shareable version suited for platforms like LinkedIn.

Prefer something tangible? You’ll also have the option to receive a physical certificate, beautifully printed and ready to hang.

Classes

Our classes are live and interactive. Real teachers, real connection, and real-time learning that invites questions, conversation, and joy. We may post recorded lessons as supplemental material but the core learning is live. Mentors build relationships—not just content delivery. Students don’t just sit through videos—they’ll are seen, heard, and guided every step of the way.

Our instructors are practicing Sunni Muslims with deep experience in both secular and Islamic education. Each one is selected not just for their qualifications, but for their ability to inspire, connect, and nurture—with a special emphasis on those who are innovating in the field of Islamic learning.

Behind every course is a dedicated team of passionate educators, thoughtful curriculum designers, and published authors who care deeply about raising the next generation of confident, spiritually grounded learners. With decades of combined experience in classrooms, homeschool settings, and educational leadership, they’ve helped shape minds—and hearts—around the world.

📘 Great teachers make all the difference. They aren’t just instructors—they’re mentors, partners, and guides. Enroll today to join our growing learning family and discover the heart behind our classrooms.

We keep our class sizes intentionally small to ensure deep connection, personal attention, and meaningful learning. No child is just a name on a roster—they’re known, seen, and supported. Unless otherwise noted, our class sizes follow these age-based guidelines:

  • Ages 6 and under: Max 6 students
  • Ages 6–12: Max 9 students
  • Ages 12 and up: Max 12 students

Some courses—especially those focused on creative projects or guided mentorship—may accommodate slightly more students if the structure allows. Any exceptions will be clearly noted on the course page.

At Mawadda, we design learning spaces to feel personal, warm, and attentive. Your child won’t just attend class—they’ll belong.

Since spaces are limited, if a course speaks to your heart and schedule, it’s best to reserve your spot early.

Some offerings return only once a year—or not at all—so we’d love to have you while space remains.

At Mawadda, each course is thoughtfully structured around its unique goals and audience. Some programs span a full year, while others run on a shorter term basis—typically 8 to 12 weeks. We also offer shorter intensives from time to time.

As a general guide:

  • Children’s courses meet more frequently, with shorter class times. Our core ELA and Math programs run 3 days a week, with sessions ranging from 30 to 50 minutes, depending on the child’s age. Most also include a weekly one-on-one check-in to nurture individual growth.

  • Adult courses often start with weekly sessions and shift to long-term monthly mentorship, especially for project-based learning and personal refinement.

The expected time commitment is clearly listed on each course page, so you can plan with confidence.

Yes—but never busywork. For children, we offer light yet meaningful activities that reinforce class content. These may be creative, faith-rooted, or family-oriented, designed to nurture connection and understanding at home.

The younger the child, the more we require parental involvement, with brief, clear guidance shared after each session to make participation smooth and intentional. In our early-years ELA programs, reading, writing, and phonics practice are core components of the learning journey.

For adults, assignments may include short readings, reflection prompts, or project-based tasks that build toward a larger goal. All activities are thoughtfully designed to support growth between sessions—without overwhelming your schedule.

We know how important the right fit is—so we offer free meetings with families before enrollment to assess whether our courses are a good fit.

If siblings are close in age and skill level, they may be able to attend the same class. Please reach out before registering so we can help you choose the best fit. Some courses also offer tiered sibling discounts to make it easier for families to enroll multiple children.

Family Fit & Expectations

Not at all! While many of our families homeschool, all Muslim families are welcome—including after-school learners, weekend students, and parents seeking spiritual growth..

At Mawadda, we see parents as vital partners—especially in the early years.

For younger children, your support matters. We provide short, clear guidance after each class to help you reinforce key concepts like phonics, reading, and creative thinking at home. You don’t need to teach—just encourage, remind, and create a warm, supportive space. As children grow more independent, your role shifts to periodic check-ins and communication with teachers. Your involvement becomes lighter, but still meaningful.

For adult learners, no parent involvement is needed—but many parents find that their own learning enhances how they guide their children.

Yes. We offer consistent, thoughtful updates—tailored to your child’s age.

For early years, expect weekly updates and at least one monthly check-in, covering academic milestones, adab, and spiritual development. Our goal is to help you feel confident and connected to your child’s growth. Our small class sizes ensure teachers can provide individualized reflections and stay in touch through messaging and progress notes—so you’re always informed, not in the dark.

Yes—in select cases. We offer personal classes on a case-by-case basis, depending on teacher availability, subject fit, and student needs.

These may be ideal for families seeking tailored instruction, students with unique learning goals, or those needing extra flexibility in scheduling. If you’re interested, book a call or message us directly so we can explore what’s possible, inshaAllah.

Our capacity for personal classes is limited, but we’re happy to see how we can support you.

Instructors & Pedagogy

Our instructors are handpicked for their creativity, expertise, and depth of experience. Many are recognized specialists in their fields—whether it’s literacy, STEM, Islamic studies, or curriculum design. Each brings a unique blend of professional excellence and heartfelt commitment to nurturing Muslim learners.

Mawadda follows a Sunni framework. All instructors are Sunni Muslims, and this informs their teaching, especially in any courses centered around the theology, fiqh, and Islamic history.

However, many of our classes—such as those on creative writing, crafts, curriculum design, or even the stories of the Prophets—are designed to be spiritually nourishing and beneficial to all Muslims, regardless of background. We avoid divisive issues and center unity, mercy, and prophetic character.

At Mawadda, we only offer courses that carry a clear Islamic foundation—rooted in yaqīn (certitude), ʿubūdiyyah (slavehood to Allah), and khidmah (service to the Ummah). Even in subjects like writing, math, or the arts, our goal isn’t just skill-building—it’s soul-nourishing.

We teach through the lens of intention, adab, and wonder, helping students see learning as a form of worship. From reflective prompts to integrated duas and ethical discussions, our courses are crafted to develop both the mind and the heart—with reverence, not just rigor.
